about

Thank you for visiting my “Polynesian Music Collection” site.

Inspired by my wife’s longtime fascination with Tahiti, we chose this place as our honeymoon destination. Because I was charmed by the kindness of the hotel staff and the local people there, and the atmosphere of the place, Tahiti became my very favorite place. One of the hotel staff is now our best friend and supports us for a long time.

Before that, I visited Australia and New Zealand with a “KIWI husband” and a Japanese couple who were living in Japan at the time, and experienced the first overseas visit and homestay in my life. I am still very grateful to them. Of course, New Zealand is another my favorite places.

Later, my wife started teaching Hawai’ian hula, and through it, we were introduced to a Hawaiian musician and his aunt, Kumu Hula. We were also invited his mother’s big birthday party on Oahu, and he has helped un in many ways, and we thank him and her wife every day.

At the same time, my wife also started teaching Tahitian dance. The Tahitian who had been my wife’s teacher and her family became very good friends and gave me my Tahitian name “Haumanava”. We have been in contact with them as a family member ever since.

You may have noticed that they are all Polynesians. They were all from the Polynesian culture. What a kind people they are!

In my wife’s job, we have been exposed to a lot of Polynesian music and have collected a lot of CDs. As the number of CDs grew, and as I converted them into data for my music player, I noticed that some of the CD information and song titles were misspelled. So, I decided to make a list of Polynesian music CDs with the song title information that I wrote.
If possible, I will also include information on sites where you can listen to or purchase the songs.
I look forward to sharing and enjoying the music of Polynesia with you.
